Hello! Welcome to the World of Gervase. This blog is a little chunk of my life that explores homeschooling, homemaking, and being a mom and a wife that wears MANY MANY hats. Like most people these days, our life is jam-packed with everyday routines, surprises along the way, work, homeschool, ministry, church, friends, family, tight schedules, love, and at the center of it all, Jesus!
So why blog about it, you ask? First of all, I absolutely love encouraging others and I absolutely love sharing what I’ve learned along the way. We can all learn from others, what they go through, and how they handle it. I believe that another person’s story can give hope to help you press through; primarily, with Jesus. If I can share what we are going through and learning from it, then I see that as a ministry opportunity and a form of encouragement.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
So, let me officially introduce myself. Hi! My name is Christie Gervase and I’m the creator and blogger of WorldofGervase.com. I originally created this blog to share various content concerning my faith and our family’s journey. Over the years, the blog has morphed into a new outlet for content concerning moms and wives. However, I haven’t abandoned creating faith content, it now has a new home at www.roarwithlove.com (under construction).
I am a stay-at-home mom and I find great enjoyment in taking care of my family and managing our homeschool and all-things homemaking. I began homeschooling our son in 2012 when he was just 3 years old. Homeschooling has brought me some of the greatest memories along with some not “so proud” moments.
“Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.” -Proverbs 31:29
I also support my husband with his businesses and our ministry. It truly is a balancing act and one that takes a heart to be led by the Holy Spirit in ordering our lives.
Additionally, I have an Associates in Mental Health, a Bachelor of Social Work Degree, and a Masters in Clinical Christian Counseling. I am a Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor (NCCA) and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” -Proverbs 27:17
My husband is an Ordained Minister. He is also a tax accountant. He is my best friend and I’m so thankful we get to travel this journey together.
Our son is an avid gamer with aspirations of one day developing his own game played by millions of people from around the world. He also loves drums and piano and is an all-around amazing little boy that we have been blessed beyond measure to be his parents.
I very much look forward to sharing the very best content I have to offer. I also look forward to hearing from each of you and learning a little bit about each of your “about you.”
Lastly, let’s be real. Life can be busy. Life can be crazy. Life can be crazy busy. No matter what though, we know we want Jesus at the center of it all, whether it’s homeschool, parenting, family, homemaking, or whatever it may be in your life. Remember, He is our strength, peace, strong tower, and gives directions through it all. So, welcome to this journey, where we are living…loving…and learning!
